Hello everyone, I've been a massage therapist for over 16 years, and a lover of the Hawaiian culture so it seemed obvious to me to want to learn how to do Lomi Lomi, unfortunately I can't seem to find training available in northern california, can anyone point me in the right direction?
Unfortunately I don't have the means to travel too far for training. Thank you.

Hi Teresa, I am also a lover of Hawaiiana.
Lomi Lomi is a sacred touch, and learning it will change your massage practice forever. I teach Hawaiian bodywork in Australia, am planning a training in San Francisco in June or July, 2012.
I will go from there to Victoria and Vancouver, where I have family and friends, and massage schools interested in introducing Lomi. This is in the tentative stages at the moment, so you won't find much on my website. I want to have details firmed up before I release them there. Please feel free to contact me and I'd love to discuss with you by email - info@essentialbodywork.com.au. My website is www.essentialbodywork.com.au.
Aloha,
Kimberlee
Aloha, Theresa.
Would you like to sponsor a training in your area? I teach many styles of Lomi. Also available, apprenticeships and private training, mainland and Kauai.

The Hawaiian Lomilomi Association was founded by Hawaiians to perpetuate traditional, authentic lomilomi. They vet their instructors so you know you are getting the real deal. Two are in northern California. http://www.hawaiilomilomi.com/instructors
While you are at the website, check out our annual conference coming up October 13-15. It is quite reasonable (and air fare to Hawaii can be cheap) and will feature one of our most treasured kupuna or elders, Kaipo Kaneakua.

"Lomi lomi means massage or “to shift,” which may be translated by many into a variety of styles and techniques. Hawaiian healing is a tradition that is handed down for generations to family (‘ohana) and varies among islands and families, many of which are still secret. This is what differentiates the traditional form from the contemporary styles and other styles of massage, the essence of a culture of healing vs. a technique."Thank you so much for all of your information I really appreciate all of your guidance. Many blessings.
Teresa
Aloha Teresa
I am offering a training in Colorado if you can attend this October.
As well as the best place to train on the island of Kaua'i.
I am working on a class in the California region, but it probably won't happen til 2012.
Blessings on your journey to find the teacher that is for you!
Aloha, Gloria
Thanks for posting Daniel!
