Fund Raising Help

Hi Everyone,

I'm an apprentice in an Asian Bodywork program, and I am working on my Thesis, which is my final project. The person I'm working on lives in another state, and I'm going to be doing fund raising to help with travel and expenses. I want to hold an event, and I have never done anything like this before. Can any of you please help me with some suggestions of what I can do to raise money at this event?
