I live in louisiana and here you have to have four years of experience before you can be an instructor. Recently they added a new thing where if you teach any type of anatomy class you have to have a bachelors degree but I dont think you have to be a therapist to teach the anatomy classes. And also you have to take some type of hands on CEU in the classes in which you teach. Remeber that is here in louisiana

Hi Jackie,

There may be specific requirements in your state- you can check with the Board website in your state. You may want to take some classes in teaching. I recommend the Teacher Training Intensive. In 3 days you can learn about adult education, gain information and resources for adult learning theory, and begin to develop some basic skills. And earn 21 CE hours while you are at it. As a textbook author I have to also develop instructor manuals, course guides, curriculium plans and sylubi, lesson plans, test banks and more for each book I write. These materials are reviewed by educational specialists to ensure quality. I just finished and an online course to accompany Mosby's Essential Sciences for Therapetuic Massage. Susan Salvo contributed as well. Each of out textbooks has access to what Elsevier calls Master Teacher Training online. The point is all this great educational support material is under used and everone ends up recreating the wheel. So Jackie, when you do begin to teach make sure to explore and use all the great stuff the publishers provide for you.
