I teach business in an acupuncture school and we use Google docs to co-create a business plan for a clinic.  The students work on it in class and at home.

I use the online courses the publishers provided for Mosby's Essential Sciences for Massage Therapy, and Pathology for Massage by Susan Salvo.  I assign students to look up research on pubmed  and report to the class.   We visit other massage experts web sites.  We also use discussion boards,

Jan that sounds very good. The worse classes I have seen in massage schools that actually hurt students ability to run business have been the business classes. Myths abound, regulations are not understood (even teaching laws that don't exist just assumed), even districts (local, county, state) are confused. Sounds like this type of exercise might help. Could you set up and market a lesson plan? Even in this site many teachers state regulatory and business plan information that can not be cited as it is only assumption.

In an effort to make education more accessible and affordable, I have been turning all my workshops and those of  colleagues into webinars and online courses.  Here is a new article that speaks to online education in the massage industry: http://massagebodywork.idigitaledition.com/issues/23/Page111/

Actually, I have taken this a step forward and I have created a Virtual Campus website to my massage school in London, UK. We use a huge amount of videos in the classroom. The Virtual campus has the forum, course content, videos, and photos. from all of these I would highly recommend the use of video camera in class.

I love you tube. When I have some extra time after planning a lesson (especially a science lesson) I will go to you tube and find a video to explain one or two of the most challenging or most important topics. The students also are required to do several presentations throughout the program, and they do a great job using the internet to locate picture of skin disorders and major muscle groups.

I also have a jeopardy power point that we use for test reviews!!!

I love these Sandy. Thanks so much! We also research on pubmed!

We require students to build their own websites using www.wix.com.

Before submission, we critique them in class (evaluation, creation level of Bloom's Taxonomy)
