Hi Everyone,

I was wondering what training you received for Reflexology and continuing education? For instance, my 200-hour training was through Jay Vanden Heuvel, Natural Selections Inc., and he was trained through Progressive Reflexology.

As for continuing education, I can say that my teacher has offered classes over the years. The only other training I have received was the first segment of Cranio-Sacral Reflexology. I hope Providence makes it possible to finish my training in Cranio-Sacral Reflexology and introduce me to other great classes and terrific teachers. I hope one day to be a Reflexology teacher myself.

 Thanks for your input!

 Blessings,

Hi Kim,
I went to the New England Institutel for Reflexology and took a 375 hour course in Eastern Standard reflexology in Bourne, MA. The CranioSacral reflexology looks interesting, because I practice the Upledger system of CranioSacral work. Good luck!

I have had 32 hours of Reflexology through the Ingham Institute and just completed 16 hours with Claire Marie Miller who created Intigrative Reflexology at the World Massage Festival. I loved Claore's class. it is so much easier for the giver and receiver to enjoy. 8 more hours from her and I will be certified and then can teach her method.

I was also trained by Jay Vanden Heuvel--what a great teacher!  I haven't had any continuing ed formally (besides active reading, refreshing my knowledge, etc.) but there is a gal in Belgium Wi by the name of Ray of Hope reflexology who offers continuing eds.  I have not yet had the privilege of attending her classes.

where did you do the craniosacral reflexology?  I never heard of it but it sounds interesting.

has anyone ever done a correspondense course on reflexology?

When I was President of the Reflexology Organization of Wisconsin, we worked with the Illinois Reflexology Association to bring Dr. Martine Faure-Alderson to teach an intro to CSR class in WI. We were one of the stops on her USA teaching tour. The RAA had her come and teach at one of their conferences. There are trained teachers in her technique in the USA. You can find out more information by going to www.craniosacralreflexologyinternational.com.

I completed a 200-hour reflexology program with the Baltimore School of Reflexology and then became a Nationally Board Certified Reflexologist (American Reflexology Certification Board) by completing 90 additional case studies and their written and practical exam.

Reflexology continuing education is pretty hard to find. I've completed the Toe Reading class by SWIHA, Foot Glyphology program by The Sclerology Institute, and recently Moving the Energy Levels I and II by Lillian Morten. I've also taken some supplemental courses in Korean Hand Therapy, Clinical Acupressure, and Face, Tongue and Nail Analysis.

I teach Acupoint Reflexology (learning the acupoints on the feet, hands and face) and Sole Stories, a foot reading class.

I took the reflexology training from new concept massage and beauty school and now I run my own massage therapy business in Miami, FL
