Fun Foot Facts (Brought to you by Ariana Institute)

The soles of our feet have over 7,000 nerve endings.

The average person walks over 115,000 to 200,000 miles during their lifetime - that’s enough to walk around the world 4 times or more.

Our feet bear a cumulative weight total of 1,000 tons a day.

Feet cushion as much as a million pounds of pressure during only one hour of strenuous exercise.

It is thought that this foot therapy spread from Egypt through the Roman Empire. The Roman Emperor Octavian mentions the foot massages Mark Antony gave to Cleopatra.

What fun foot facts would you like to contribute?

Take a look at the 2nd toe. If it's longer than the big toe, your client may have an imbalance in the Earth element.
Not only did foot work start in Egypt, but there is a paining in a tomb with a practitioner working on a client. Over the client is heiroglyphs is the caption, "Please don't hurt Me!" I guess some things never change.
Yes, I understand that reflexology has been in use as early as 2230 B.C.

If every part of the body has a reflex point in the foot them posture distortions will cause pain in that part of the foot that supports the out of balance part of the body. I have been mapping these posture reflexes at http://reflexposturology.weebly.com/
