I've just scheduled a new intro level aromatherapy CEU class, plus a low cost women's aromatherapy event, both in November. Also, Aromaceuticals will be participating in the FREE Girls' Night Out women's health festival at Medical City Hospital in Dallas. Please visit the website for more details...

Hi, I am new to the San Antonio area.  I just opened my own little practice, any words from the wise?

Bonnie: I'm offering an Ashi-Thai class on February 22-23 in San Antonio if you are interested.

Ashi-Thai is an adaptation of traditional Thai massage set up on the table, using overhead bars for balance, support and greater leverage. When Thai is up on the table, you are able to utilize the "dangle-effect" as I call it, and passively stretch your clients into a deeper range of motion as their limbs have the ability to extend beyond the boundaries of the table into space - you can literally watch them melt! Gravitational forces from the dangle-effect, as well as deep compression using the natural weight of your body help to release chronic tension easily and effectively.

Using the overhead Ashiatsu bars for leverage will help you twist and lift your clients weightlessly into space, expanding their sensations and perceptions of motion. The ability to deeply stretch and move your clients in your massage sessions is so much fun, and has so many amazing benefits. It's like a 3-D massage!

If you have any questions, you can check out my site or contact me anytime.

Thanks a lot, Ariana.  Your info is a big help.  I've been interested in Thai for a while now and have decided to pursue it this year.  By the way, I really enjoyed the classes you taught in Austin.

Hi Bonnie - Kerri La Balle teaches Thai Massage in Austin. Shama Kern has some great free videos on his site. Roberto Leal used to teach Thai massage in San Antonio. Mark Uridel teaches Thai in Austin. I've studied with all four and they come highly recommended.

Hi San Antonio!

I'm down here in Karnes County.  I'm looking for a Thai Massage class anywhere in Texas.  Can anyone tell me where to look or who to contact?

Volunteer opportunity in San Marcos - Embassy Suites
Website: ride2recovery.com
Contact: Mary Nieder

Job Description: Looking for a way to use your talents to give back to our Soldiers? Why not help with the Ride 2 Recovery Bike Ride benefiting Wounded Warriors. We need 30 Massage Therapist and Nail Technicians as VOLUNTEERS to give approximately 3 hours of their time and labor for this worthy and honorable event.

This event will be Tuesday April 6, 2010 from 2pm-5pm. Stay all three hours or one hour, we can use all the help for this event we can get. Massage Therapist will help the guys after they arrive and cool down, and Nail Technicians will aide the Soldiers in fixing up any problems the riders may have with their feet.

Please be sure to bring along your own supply of hand sanitizers, face covers, and your business cards. The Riders/Soldiers will arrive at the Embassy Suites between 2-3pm, and many will need lots of TLC on those tired bodies. The cyclists are "wounded warriors" - U.S. veterans who have received war injuries - who have turned to cycling to boost their physical and mental rehabilitation.

The riders will leave San Antonio, go through Seguin and on to San Marcos where they will stay the night, and then on to Arlington the next day. Local American Legions from around the area will be on hand to feed our riders also. If you have a massage chair (or not) and are a LMT, or a Nail Technician I would love to include you in to help us with this cause. Please pass this email along to any of your colleagues that might want to participate.

Several therapists have asked how they can help if they cannot attend, we will gladly accept any donations such as disposable face covers, disposable gloves, sanitizers, or even lend us a chair if you might have an extra one.

If you are interested please call Mary Nieder at 512-805-5300 or you may also email Melanie at mbacuno@massagetherapy.com for more details.

Thanks!
