  • Self Care and Body Mechanics for Massage Therapists       
  • This chapter, Self Care and Body Mechanics for Massage Therapists, includes information regarding how massage therapists can make their work easier. Topics include body mechanics, basic self care, nurturing yourself while nurturing others, communication skills, centering techniques, setting your intention for the session, ethics, and healthy boundaries.
  • Stretching and Breathing
  • In this chapter, Stretching and Breathing, readers will learn the importance of stretching and breathing exercises. It is important to be aware of the effects of proper breathing and regular stretching as it can help alleviate stress and physical discomfort. Learning to regularly stretch is also key in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
  • Meditation 
  • This chapter, Meditation, offers participants an opportunity to focus inward, deeply rejuvenate, and gain valuable knowledge about the art of meditation as it applies to a therapeutic practice and to a person's life. This chapter is designed to heighten well-being and expand the depth with which and individual connects inwardly and with clients.
  • Mindfulness
  • This chapter, Mindfulness, focuses on developing concentration through non-judgmental awareness. Mindfulness has been described as a process of bringing a certain quality of attention to moment-by-moment experience. The practice of mindfulness is a technique to help individuals cope with stress, anxiety, pain, change, and illness while developing a non-judgmental awareness leading to a deep sense of inner peace and calm.
