First congrats to Paulina on passing the Nationals!

Second did anyone use or purchase any study guides for either licensing exam? I'm looking into getting one asap. I'm about to complete my second week in clinic and hope to take my test soon.

I purchased an online exam through www.massage-exam.com The site is run by fellow MT's, and is geared for the NCBTMB. I constantly took the practice tests, which tell you the correct answers to those you got wrong. I think it helped me in passing the real exam.
Also, you can order the study guide through NCBTMB. It's a thin book, but tells you all the vocabulary you need to study. It also has practice questions.
For clinic/hands-on purposes, Trail Guide to the Human Body is an amazing book!! It literally shows you every muscle and bone, and makes it so easy to palpate. Draw the muscles on your body with a china marker (washes off easily).

Good luck!!
Thanks Rachel, I have the trail guide and have been using it. I do think this is a great tool. I will also look online at the link you provided.

I finished clinic this past Friday! So I'm on my way.
Well Good luck! I'm sure with all your studying, you are going to do great!

The Plain & Simple Guide to Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork ... has been holding fast as Lippincott's #2 best seller for almost a year. It comes with a huge website with hundreds of practice questions and great teacher ancillaries. Massage schools may request a review copy.
Coming from Florida, I too just passed the NCETMB (Paulina and I were classmates).

One of the things that helped me prepare was to get the Michelle Phillips study guides, and I logged onto the NCBTMB website and purchased the practice exam, which consisted of 65 sample questions. Unfortunately, with the NCBTMB practice, you purchase three samples, but all three of mine had the same questions, just in a different order each time.

Wilma, one of the keys to remember for the national exam is to not become over stressed about it, make sure you get a good sleep the night before the exam and take time to breath while in the exam room. :)
I am a LMT, tutor student for the national exam and have written a study guide. My advice is to not overlook studying Chinese theory and pharmacology. There is a ton of these questions on the exam. GOOD LUCK on the exam and feel free to check out my study guide. http://www.gtorres.weebly.com
