Lots of Questions

I am getting a lot of questions from therapists just starting out and thought maybe a discussion group could serve as a reference point for them.
This time of transition is a delicate time. So many therapists lose confidence. Do not let this be you. This group is here to help you make it. You ARE one of us!

There is now an alliance forming for therapists and students at the Massage Therapy Alliance of America. Click on this link for details

At this point in time, I don't have a book to add. Nothing off the top of my head, anyhow. However, I've been doing massage professionaly for 7 years. That is still considered a "rookie" by some in this industry and ancient by the ones just starting. The point is this... none of us will ever know everything there is to know. Try not to become a weekend seminar specialist. It may be years of implementing what you have learned with weekend CE courses before you actually know what you are talking about. I am ready and willing to answer any questions that may be directed to me, at me, or maybe not even me if I think I can help. At the heart of it, that's what we are. Helpers, not healers. Now that last remark may be disputed, but that's what makes the world go 'round!

There is also Business Mastery. I see you have Laura's posted already.
Cherie Sohnen Moe wrote Business Mastery. I would also suggest if people are going into business themselves, to check their local communities for advice. Many senior entrepreneurs and CEO's offer free business advice. Network associations may also offer suggestions. For instance, the womans business association etc.
