Whip lash is not just in the neck 6 Replies

Stop and think about the mechanics of it. Modern cars have a belt from shoulder to hip and across to the other hip. All of these points restrain and rebound different parts of the body at different…Continue

I have worked as a therapist off & on for about 6yrs. I am heavy into natural & alternative modalities. Unfortunately, I have suffered from about 10 MVA. Luckily, only one was a slight concussion. I've suffered from 2-3 yrs of back & neck pain, constant headaches, I mean a 24hr headache that went on for 2-3 months. Initially chiropratic & massage was the modalities that attempted to heal my pains.
I have evolved and prefer accupuncture, massage & chiropractic. If done over a 3-6 month period will usually give relief of all pain. The severity of the injury usually dictates length of treatment. I came across a therapist that addresses muscular skelatal injuries in a non-trditional (TCM) accupuncture. the needles are inserted into the muscles in such a way it releases the trauma after sessions of treatment.

I was skeptical at first but having artheritis in my cervical area now made me try it & it helped tremendously. I've noticed episodes of Stressful situatuiions in life, family or work issues causes flare-ups of my old injuries. So normally, I test & treat for stress using herbal supplements & nutrition prior to massage. Anyone needing a high quality product that's pharmaceutical grade, contact me.

Was rearended on Friday on my way to work while sitting at the red light. Other driver took off and left after he hit me. Chiro visit today. Upper back and neck especially on the left side is inflammed and painful. 3rd rear end hit in 2 1/2 years. I'm done being the designated person to take these guys off the road.

Also remember that trauma impacts the internal fascia and ligaments of the viscera also. Scarring and adhesions can form which refer outward into the musculo-skeletal system.

We are 70-80% water and the force is often contained in a centripetal fulcrum as the fluid matrix contains the biokinetic force and creates very deep fluid patterns of tension. So, many times resolution of long standing whiplash will not respond totally to origin and insertion work, trigger point, cross fiber etc. Long standing pain issues can often be traced to an "ancient whiplash injury" that is acting a a present pattern organizer! Deal with it at the fluid level and many times you get "miraculous" results.

I totally agree..the body is entirely affected...all the way to the cellular level..the cases that I come into contact with..no-fault..people complain mostly of their neck..and also myself..neck issues

MVA & whiplash...hits home..2005.. I was in 3 MVA..the last one was definately more traumatic for me..(there was a death) than the first two..at the time I was attending The New York Institute of Massage..sometimes I am amazed at how got through the last few months of school..but I believe I am here for many reasons..everyday(some worse than others)..since, I have been dealing with chronic pain in the neck..there have been times when i just want to rip my neck right off.. I have had an MRI, X-rays, chiropractic adjustments, pain specialists, PT's and other numerous treatments..after school I wanted to work on other people who had dealt with whiplash..ask and you shall receive..now I have been involved with No Fault....what an experience..is it fair? I have not completely healed from my experiences but yet I am trying to help others with the same imprint? any thoughts? any and all
