Pulmonary Emboli (more than one clot in lungs)

I know that if someone has pulmonary emboli the massage is postponed until the condition resolves and medical clearance is given..my questions is what are factors that might lead to medical clearance? Normal tx for pulmonary emboli is heparin and then coumadin. Would medical clearance be possible if the massage was only gentle light no pressure strokes?
