Hi! I am a massotherapy student in Ohio and have been practicing as an intern for 4 months now. (Graduate 08/2010). I wanted to throw a situation out there and get the opinions of some more experienced professionals. Here is the scenario: My mother was involved in a horse-related accident in which she suffered a mild concussion and localized bruising to her upper arm. She also "bounced" her hip and leg off a rocky outcrop but claims she has no visible bruising. (I haven't seen her yet.) This only just occurred on Friday afternoon. She is obviously stiff and sore and called to ask if I could do some back/neck/should work on her. My gut is telling me it's WAY too soon, but can anyone give me some advice on any gentle massage techniques that might be helpful in easing her discomfort? Or any stretches I can help her with? Any help would be great!! Thanks!!
