A cat scan and x x rays were taken. They came out all clear.
He is getting better daily but still shows signs of the accident.
Do you think I can do some cranio sacral work on him?

Thank you so much Ms.Laura and Ms.Nurit for the info about the stroke client. I am very basic in polarity but would like some more in depth info Nurit, as I am the one planning on doing therapy for my dad.

What great info you all are giving thank you so much, I am currently taking a course with Upledger I am looking into taking crainosacral with them as well.

For whoever is looking for continuing education I highly recommend the Biodyanmic approach (I have taken many of Upledger's courses as well). You can check the CranioSacral therapy Association of North America for further info-

I am pleased to find a group concentrating on CranioSacral Therapy. I have completed CranioSacral Therapy I and Cranio Sacral Therapy II from the Upledger Institute and attend a local study group in Tampa Florida. Several years before I became a licensed massage therapist, I became a Reiki Master/Teacher, which introduced me to "light touch" and energy work. I find my understanding is greatly enhanced by attending the local study group. The more one uses CranioSacral Therapy the more they become aware of the fantastict effect this light touch method produces. I am looking forward to hearing about the many success stories you have all had using this method and how you integrate into your businesses.

Hello All,

My name is Nurit and I am a registered practictioner of Biodynamic CranioSacral Therapy. I also teach at the Swedish Institute- school of Massage Therapy in NYC. I am happy to have found you-
I had a client who had a stroke coming in with a cane and walking out without. Most important is to find a therapist who can really listen to the body and facilitate the work from there. This is an important concept in Cranial work. Just doing very simple techniques through deep listening has the potential to go a long way-

Laura,
I think the gentle modality of craniosacral work with a biodynamic approach would be a safe way to invite a healing of the nervous system and connection of mind/body functioning in a case like this. A "CV4" technique would not be recommended to someone who has had a stroke, but any other c.s. contact would potentially be helpful.

Have a dad who had a stroke about 3 months ago. What kind of therapy would be best to help with the brain connecting to motor skills. He has all feeling in left arm but no use of it.
