How often do you as a Massage Therapist get massages? Weekly, monthly or whenever you feel you need one?

I receive a massage at least once a week and sometimes twice a week depending on how I feel. I also have an exercise ball to do stretches on, a tredmill to walk on, a hot tub and a sauna. For me it is very important to take care of myself as I am older and have been rear ended 3 times in the last 3 years.

Wow  good for you guys that you get massages twice a week! I would love to do that. I just started trading with a lady I went to school with and so far we are just doing one once or twice a month for eachother. Are you guys trading for your massages or paying for them? Can't how often you give massage sort of determine how much you should be receiving massage? I'm only doing about 5-10 massages a week right now and then am a Chiro Assistant the other days of the week so I have a lil more rest for my body. I definitely believe it's super important to receive massage and take care of your body regularly as an LMP.

I live in Thailand where you can get a massage for about $5 to $8 per hour very easily by just walking into any of the countless massage shops. But before you think that this is massage paradise, I have to say that it is not very easy to find a therapist who can do what you want and do it well.

My wife and I are both massage therapists. We have our little routine which we enjoy a lot. In the evening we watch a movie or some TV and one of us sits on a chair and the other in front of the chair on the floor. The one sitting on the chair gives the other a shoulder, neck and head massage. It is a really comfortable and enjoyable arrangement and much easier than asking each other for full massages. We both love it and cherish this interaction. I do get full body Thai massages in one of the shops whenever I feel like it as well.

Twice a week wow! Do you find that your body needs it that much? I would LOVE to have one twice a week. Ya that's rough when you know you need it and you can't get one :/

If my trading partners are available - 2ce a week.  Unfortunately, neither have been available for the past couple of weeks - and I'm feeling it!

Wow that's awesome that massages are so cheap in Thailand. I remember when I was in China they were only like $15 american for a full body. I think you are right though that it's not always what you expect it to be. What a great set up that both you and your wife are massage therapists and work on eachother :) That must be reallyyyyy nice.

After reading the post, I am going to schedule a professional  massage tomorrow. I am overdue, massage therapists need massages routinely.
