Seeking "Sister Organizations"...
Namaste everyone,
I am hopeful of establishing "Sister" relationships with at least 20 locations, nationwide by the New Year. If you have any suggestions, contacts, or interest, please let me know. In particular I am hopeful of connecting with massage therapists, spas, yoga centers, health professionals, coffee shops, and other grass-roots community organizations. Also, classrooms would be a wonderful success.
My intention behind the "Sister" relationships is to raise awareness and funds, in a simple, no-pressure, effective way:
1. I will provide each location with 30 to 40 of our Himalayan Healers fundraising packages, free of charge, for them to hopefully sell.
2. Each fundraising package will contain silk scarves, silk purses filled with loose-leaf Nepali tea, and information on our work in Nepal, along with a promotional flyer which each location can edit to suit their own efforts and situation.
3. Each package will cost either a $5 / month or $7.50 / month online subscription via PayPal on our website.
4. Ideally, the packages will be offered in conjunction with a service from the hosting "Sister" location. As an example, if a yoga center were interested in working with us as a "Sister" organization, they could potentially offer a free yoga session + silk scarf + silk purse filled with loose leaf Nepali tea, for the $7.50 / month online subscription, or simply sell the silk scarf and purse (without a donated yoga session) for the $5 / month online subscription.
5. The goal would be to sell 30 total packages at the $7.50 / month subscription, or 40 packages total at the $5 / month subscription, equalling $200 / month for 1 year, per "Sister" location.
6. With one month's efforts to sell 30 to 40 packages, fundraising will be provided year-round. Ideally, this could be repeated the following year, with new products to offer from Nepal.
I have attached a sample flyer for a "Sister" yoga center as an example. If you are interested in participating, or can connect us with any organizations that might possibly be interested, it would be a tremendous help for our work at Himalayan Healers. Hope everyone is having a great day!
