As a survivor of a wide variety of abuse modalities, I find it vital to share with people who have a dislike for being touched.  The only touching I grew up with was unpleasant and unwanted.  Massage set me free in so many ways after I had a major emotional release the day before my wedding during a massage.  I was inspired to become a massage therapist because it not only feels good and relieves stress but it can be an opening to healing emotional wounds and scars not many people are aware of.  Once a client/person is gently led into healing touch they rarely go away not wanting more healing, nurturing touching.
