To Everyone Listing CE Classes in this Group.
Please be aware that the Louisiana Board of Massage has very specific requirements in the law on posting ads in regard to continuing education classes.
It doesn't matter if you are "nationally approved" by NCBTMB or some other organization. Your post (and all other ads, whether printed or electronic) must bear one of two statements:
1. "Approved by the Louisiana Board of Massage Therapy for a maximum of ____ hours CEUs".
2. "Not offered for Louisiana State Board of Massage Therapy CEUs".
No other statement regarding Louisiana CEU approval may
be made in advertising, promotional and/or other materials,
included but not limited to, a statement that an application
has been to the board for approval or that the provider
intends to apply for approval.
Violation may result in a $1000.00 fine plus the CE provider may be denied approval of future CE classes for 2 full years.
SO if you are going to post a listing for a class that is not LA board approved, just make sure it includes statement #2 above. Therapists can still take the class for national requirements or just for their own edification.
If you are going to post a class that is approved for LA CE - you must apply and then wait until you have your approval letter for the class in your hand before you post an ad and make sure to include statement #1 in your post.
Just trying to keep everyone honest and out of trouble...
