I sent you an email. Everyone has some great suggestions here!
I would also like to know have you continued your education to learn new techniques. Have you gone out to events to show your face and hands?
It takes at least 2 years to get a good practice going. It requires dedication, time, lots of networking and persistence.
There are many therapists that are highly skilled too and you need to continue learning so you can also offer the quality and care people seek in a massage therapists. Basic trainings are just that!

Comment by Gary Lloyd on March 11, 2010 at 11:31am: Another way to get started is with chair massage. There may be stores or a mall that will let you set up a chair free. One thing I did was to offer 5 minutes free and then charge $1 per minute after that. The 5 minutes free got quite a few people on the chair - then they are there to hear about your work. Many times it can lead to a full session because of the help they get in a short time on the chair. And, you never know who you might meet -other MT's, D.C.'s who might have something to offer you.

Hope you're having a good day. One idea might be to connect with a chiropractor's office - they're almost always busy, and it's a great way to get yourself busy and your foot in the door. It can be a first step towards building your own clientele our your operation. Just an idea... I hope things work out well for you. :)

Can't you retrace you steps back to the school you graduated from and see if they have any Job Placement or Career Center or Job board at their location for any possiblilities for you?

Comment by Dominique Bounds on March 10, 2010 at 8:15pm: I've been done with school for about a year and I'm having a hard time finding a job in the MT field and its been very hecked for me this pass year. i had a job but I had to get rid of it because it was to far and when i tried to find one closer no one was hiring. So now I gave up all hopes for continuing my career in the MT field. I felt like i went to school for nothing and now i'm in debt and I dont have a job. What should i do?
