On the relaxation discussion, a comment was made by Stevie that if children had this type of training in elementary school it would add significantly to the development of their maturity. I would like to hear more, Stevie, about your thoughts on this. I am in full agreement with you and am dedicated to changing the role of education for our children. I founded a school (diablovalleyschool.org) in 1997 to do just that.

My personal experience with adults is that SugiTouch (and my other healing arts) is an avenue to teach people about self-responsibility and respect. SugiTouch provides a very gentle and accepting touch. The attitude we are taught is to approach the client (no matter their complaints or problems) in a way that acknowledges that there is nothing wrong with them. This starts the process of healing from the get-go, allowing the client to sink deeply into the feeling that they are not being judged and found wanting.

If children are treated this way from the beginning, both by parents and at school, then many of the issues that adults have will be largely resolved.

An effective way to do this is to say 'Your body chose to do this to protect you. Now that the protection is not nessesary You can do this to get back to where you were. I can do this to support your body making the change.'
I have found that young ones readily accept this approach and immediately put what they learn into practice and are out of pain.
