It's all about attitude. What do you think?

A Changed Attitude can aid in anything. My Attitudes influence my choices. The time has come for me to realize that my attitude toward the life I am living and the people in it, can have a tangible measurable effect on what happens to me day by day. Life is as good as I think it to be. Attitude is about Courage, Fear, Faith, Forgiveness, Love, etc, a whole lot of feelings. Today I am grateful and appreciative of all that has happened in my life, and where I am today. I like being here. Attitude is about Freedom and Joy in my life and knowing that no matter what the situation I face or how desperate I feel, there is always good reason for Hope.
Good for you Darcy! Now that is a positive attitude.

We are in such close proximity to our clients, we can feel their energy and they can feel ours. It is essentially to wake up and clean house on an emotional level before starting our work day. Our emotions are habitual, which means the more we are positive, the more we are positive.
Mike, you know some of what I've been thru....I have positive attitude to a fault and it's kept me alive. I wouldn't change anything in my life. It's all been a learning experience in the mind/thought process. I'm not talking about energy between me and clients and vice versa. I'm talking about having a choice everyday to decide how you want to feel for that day. Doesn't mean you always are positive....that's not reality....but you have the choice and you get to live with your decision.
"Attitude is Everything" ~ Hey, that's my line! Sounds like we all subscribe to the "Think it - Be it - Share it" way of going about things.
Has anyone else noticed that their client base is also comprised of people who are like-minded (even if it didn't start out that way) because those individuals gravitate to our practice? Like attracts Like. That's just one of the reasons I think this is the best career in the world. We reap what we sow, and this realm presents a wonderful opportunity for enjoyment in both the reaping and the sowing.
I am an epileptic and I notice I have way more symptoms and problems when my attitude is negative. I made a vow to myself that I would not get sucked down into that way of thinking. I'm staying positive! ^^
Good for you, Lisa. I think anger, frustration and negative feelings hurt everyone. I am glad you are approaching your life from a better perspective! When you feel taxed, please return here and "refresh!"

To keep a positive attitude when ANY thing goes wrong, however large or small, I humble myself and am grateful that I am even able to have such a thing go awry...such as spilled milk...millions will not have the opportunity today or this week to enjoy milk at all. INSTANT attitude change! Try it and tell me what you think :) These three words will get us through: GRATE-FUL-NESS
It is funny but I never use the word attitude. I like to think of it as keeping a positive mindset and outlook and being present in the moment and accepting the moment for what it is and being willing to accept that seeing things as good or bad is really a mental construct. Somehow, this way of viewing the world is very freeing, and liberating. I spent a long time not being able to do this and even now I sometimes struggle and feel myself lapsing into a negative mindset, but the more I work on it, I find the easier it is to take the world as it comes without fear or hesitation.
I'm glad you liked it Jeanne. It helps me everyday! It is pure love!

Mike that video is wonderful!....and strangely enough I was just going to suggest to a friend yesterday (the same time you sent this vid to me without realizing it until now) that they ask their daughter if/when she's ready to cut her hair shorter if she'd like to donate it to The Children's Cancer Society. Now I will ask my friend for sure if they'd like to plant that seed in her mind!! Impeccable timing. Great minds....
Hi Laura,

In the south and before we had so many ways of explaining our feelings, "it was attitude"(lol). Especially being raised in a military family. I don't think any one saying, "Boy, you better change your negative mindset!", would have carried much weight back then. It was a different world. I remember most women were either teachers, nurses or cooking at home. But, I get your drift.

Either way you look at it, you are doing it right. It does take a daily effort to address or it piles up. And I think that really is when folks can't "handle it all". Great point! Thanks!

I like the way you have expressed this Laura. I want to take it one step further to discuss a positive mindset, being present in the moment - when we are in the treatment room with a client. My experience is that this is of the utmost importance!! If the therapist is not totally "present", the client can usually sense it. Clients may or may not realize what is happening, but on some level they do sense it. Negativity comes through to the client, either in the therapist's conversation or in the touch.
Before I enter a treatment room I stop briefly outside the door and take a few seconds in which to Centre myself. I take a few deep breaths, centre and ground myself, and consciously leave all my troubles and concerns outside of the treatment room so that I can be totally present for my client.
