Hey Everyone!

With it getting colder (in some areas), are there any tips or tricks you would like to share, for keeping themselves & their athletes warm when giving sports massage at outdoor events?  I'm sure there are some creative solutions out there.

Having worked in construction cold weather for 20 years+,Hands are a real problem, keeping your core warm is mandatory or you quicky lose the periperal circulation. The hot hands chemical heat pads are helpful. Doing masssage therapy with horses I can have them blanketed which works reasonable well. However the cold weather also creates static electric spark creating a whole different connection with your patient, they do give you this funny look when it happens but are usually calm about it. Guess you could call that living evidence of energy work.

Battery operated Infrared heating pads which can be velcroed in place can be useful keeping an area warmed pre/post massage. Bottom line stay dry, out of the wind, maintain yours and your patients body core heat. Wear a warm hat, clean loose fitting layered clothes. If you must wear gloves keep them loose fitting because anything tight will lose the body heat fast.
