I was in class yesterday and we are studying Hot stone/ stone therapy. Are green rock best to use to keep heat in, black, green, grey are good rocks to use, but what for?

basalt stones seem to hold heat best and marble seems to works best for cold, different color seems to be just more appealing to the eyes

Well, I'm no expert, but I'll give my opinion. The color of the stones I associate much more with the origin of the rock, as river, sediment, volvanic etc. Those who come after magma cools and from the sea are the best. The volcanic rocks brought a lot of compounds that are good conductors of heat, are smoother and retain heat longer. Likewise the sea than the constant motion of the waves are impregnated with salts and are polished. The salt keeps them clean energetically and conduct heat. Similarly you can find of volcanic origin on the edge of the beaches, as in the case of Hawaii. Best to buy them is collected.
