I have heard that before, but I have been cautioned about putting my cold marble stones in the salt, as it can work its way into the veins in the marble and crack them.

I also find letting them sit in epsom salts helps for rebalancing them as well!

I have taken training in hot/cold stone massage both from La Stone Therapy and Stone Medicine. The power that is in the stones never ceases to amaze me. They teach me new things every day. What I really enjoyed most about both companies (La Stone Therapy and Stone Medicine) is that they teach not only the normal stuff (how to work with stones, contraindications, technique) but also touch on the spiritual side of the stone work and the energy in the stones themselves.

Whenever my stones are not holding heat, I have been taught that they need to reconnect with the energies of the Earth, so I set them outside on the ground for a couple days. Smudging with sage also works well!

The cold stones are great for inflamation. I use them alternately with the hot stones during a treatment if there is resistance. The heat is great for relaxation and getting deeper into the muscle, the cold will seem almost like a burn... have them breathe thru it, it adjusts within 15 seconds... try it on yourself, you'll see how great it is.
Keep your extras in the freezer and you can grab them anytime! won't ever melt and the pressure point can be awesome too. As for working with her again. I would start with the cold, then do your normal routine, or have her lay on the hot stones but work with the cold. Also be conscious of not overheating your stones on that day. Not sure if you want to work with her again but you may even call her and say I have a new technique that could really benefit you if you are open to trying it. Maybe she's ready to shift her energies with your help.
Stay grounded and trust your instincts.

Thanks Laurie! I'll look into it. I'm not too familiar with the use of cold stones yet so I've stayed away from them.
I haven't worked with her since I believe. I suspect she's been going to Las Vegas and frequenting the spas there so she doesn't feel a need to see me. She may show up again though, who knows?
How do you suggest placing the cold stones on her? Do you place hot AND cold stones simultaneously or alternately? I do have some extra stones just sitting there so I would be interested in trying that out.

Hi Stephanie T. Are you still working with this vampire? if so, I would suggest to freeze some of the stones (usually the marbled white ones hold the temperature best but the black volcanic will work as well) and play with the polarity effect of cold to balance her, the hot and cold is incredible for quickly getting a release!
Also something to consider, if your stones overheat and your hands burn a bit... desensating them... you may not be able to determine actual temperature during that session. Controling the temperature of the stones can be a challenge!

I had another client who always gave me a weird unsettling feeling that I couldn't explain as she was really friendly and never said a negative thing to me. There was just something about her.
Then I gave her an HSM, with stones heated pretty darn hot (about 3 or 4 hours of heating), and what happened next floored me. As I massaged her with the stones (I could hardly handle them they were so hot mind you), in about 10 minutes the stones became stone cold (no pun intended)!! I kidd you not. As if they had never been in the crock pot. I had met yet another energy vampire! It was pretty amazing. She literally sucked out the energy of the stones through heat, but I believe it was mor ethan that because for the next few days, those stones would not get hot enough, even if I heated them at a higher temperature!
I think she took energy in the form of heat; she was always telling that she took very hot showers and loved hot tubs and such.

It was an interesting experience... I love my stones!

I would agree. the grounding effects of the stones is very powerful. Like I mentioned try some crystals for other healing effects. And don't dismiss the cold stones they can be just as effective!
I got off the table the first time I had a HSM and declared... "I have to learn to do that!" It was the missing piece in my work ...so I started learning the very next day.
