I am considering moving the location of my massage practice but the one option that I  am leaning towards  has 12 steps leading to my room.    I have mixed emotions about that, not because I have any clients that can't climb steps;  and I'm not really sure where my concern lies.    Do any of you have your massage room upstairs?   I am just looking for feedback here and really appreciate it.

Hi Mary, I have worked in several locations with stairs and there were a handful of occasions where it was a problem, but not the norm. I guess it will depend on your clientelle though, however. Clearly it will limit your ability to work with the handicapped, injured or elderly at times and if that is a big part of your business, it could create issues. I actually moved my office to a ground level location and am glad that I did. In the past, I had people with crutches/injuries/post surgical sitting on the stairs and moving up one at a time and often I had to support and walk people down for safety. Best of luck in whatever choice you make :)
