    Hi Amy,

Congratulations on becoming an infant massage teacher!  Group classes and individual classes would likelt have a different cost associated for each.  With group classes you will have more attendess at one time with less personal attention.  So, each family would pay a little less, as compared to a private session.  Where (the location) you are teaching is a consideration of how much to charge for classes.  On average I see CIMTs charging between $20 - 50 per family, per session for a group course  (group courses typically running for 4 sessions - so, $80 - 200 per family).  For private lessons, typically families either incur a travel fee on top of this amount or they pay twice the amount per session.    Hope this is helpful!

Yes that is very helpful! Thank you. Do you find that both parents want to take the class together or just one parent comes with the baby? Also, when you break down the classes into multiple sessions, would you just work the various body parts in the different classes and then I would think it would be good to always teach the stretches. So, for example teach a class with arms, legs, and stretches. Then the next session chest, stomach, and stretches. Then another class with the back, face and stretches. I was thinking of breaking it down that way. And if so, would you reccommend the classes be an hour in length or 90 minutes? I would think 60 would be long enough when breaking up the areas like that. Thanks again for your help!

    Hi Amy,

Typically when I train Certified Infant Massage Teachers I teach them the format for breaking down the classes into 4 one-hour sessions for group classes.  For private sessions, we typially recommend 3, 60 minute sessions. Some parents love the interaction of being with other parents in a group setting, and some like privacy.  Yes, during each class you teach a limited amount of the massage and add some other content, such as topic and discussion.  Regarding stretches, not knowing what you know in this area, some poeple have been teaching stretches that can hurt a baby.  If you would like to know about this, please email me directly through my website (www.LiddleKidz.com) so I can ascertain if you are teaching something that might hurt a baby.
