Websites are now really the foundation of a successful massage business. It is important to understand the process so that you can do it yourself or hire someone to do it right for you. A website should be all about getting results!
We need more bloggers in the massage profession! Laura Allen who recently mentioned that she is being told to calm down about the NCBTMB on Massage Magazine's blog because of the NCBTMB being an advertiser is just more proof that people need their own self hosted blogs so that they can start speaking their mind.
I am going to start collecting blog addresses and post some of them here and you can add your blog address too!
Blogging is a way to create discussions on various topics that we need to be looking at as a profession. These forums/blogs here are a great beginning!
What do we need to blog about? Politics, building a business, explaining massage and how it works to the public to create a more professional image, massage research, evidence based practices, massage schools, massage continuing education...
Ok maybe it is just me being the infopreneur that I am need to blog about all that! Ha!
I just also wrote a short report on how to use wordpress on a self hosted basis and set up you blog for Search engine optimization. It is really easy and Wordpress has a xml sitemap plugin which is essential to set up and then submit your site to SE.
Most hosting systems will let you add a blog with just a few clicks using something called a Cpanel and fantastico installer. It is best to install them on the same server as your website. let me know if you have any questions.
