Massage Establishment Owners

This group will discuss massage aspects from the owners viewpoint and try to give ideas on how to save money and activities concerning therapists.

Spreading the word...

How do you promote your employees / contractors. Obviously, we all know that the greatest referral source is word of mouth. Clients spreading the word to friends, family, co-workers is "gospel". However, what methods have worked for you in getting that ball rolling for your new recruits?

Personally, the economy has effected me so bad, I've spent too much in advertising and seeing no real results that burnout is setting in pretty badly. I think maybe it's the heat.

Any event that we can get face time with potential clients is a good investment of our time and money!

We have found festivals and farmer's markets (some will allow massage) to be a great way to promote therapists. The key is setting up situations where the therapists can get their hands on bodies.

Kelly, I know the economy is a challenge. It just requires us all to be a bit more inventive. Hang in there and consider other forms of advertising. One thing that worked for me is handing out 30 minute gift certificates to businesses local to me. One free or half priced massage can potentially turn into 10 paid massages through word of mouth. Good luck.
