    Hi there Maryland!
Are you enjoying your edition of the Chesapeake PERG (Professional Education & Resource Guide)? I am the publisher, and so far I've received some calls and e-mails from therapists who like it a lot. And calls from more Continuing Education Providers who plan to advertise in the Fall Edition, which comes out in July. If you are licensed in Maryland, you should all have received the booklet in the mail by now. Let me know what you think! You can also download a copy at www.proedresourceguide.com.

Teaching Skills for the Workshop Leader

Please join me for this 4-day hands-on course, in which those who aspire to teach at the professional continuing education level will prepare for the application process and delve into the principles of adult learning. This is a true workshop. Yes, you will get lots of information. But you will also put what you learn to use right in this workshop. Come prepared to write syllabi, learning objectives and lesson plans for your class, actually try out part of your presentation with your classmates, prepare a written plan for implementation of your marketing strategy, decide what level of certification is right for you, and if it is National Certification, actually begin to fill out the NCBTMB application in class.

Times: 9:30AM to 5:00PM on Friday, 9:30AM to 6:00PM on Saturday & Sunday. 9:30AM to 1:30PM on Monday. Additional optional non-credit hours on Monday 2:30PM-4:30PM for completing the NCBTMB application for no charge.

    Hello everyone:
I was just notified the other day of New Massage Regulations for Maryland proposed by MD Board of Chiropractic Examiners.  Have you heard of this?   Here is how we will be affected:  the Board no longer plans to accept NCBTMB approved courses as they had in the past, although ALL MD massage therapists must pass the NCBTMB certification to be licensed here and NCBTMB is generally recognized as the standard for approving CEU's nationally.  They are also proposing raising the licensing fee - already the highest in the country!
DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS/LETTERS ETC IS JANUARY 18, 2011. THANK YOU!    Otherwise, please call, write, e-mail: Michele Phinney, Director, Office of Regulation and Policy Coordination, Dept of Health and Mental Hygiene, 201 W. Preston St. ,Room 512, Baltimore, MD 21201.  Send e-mail to: regs@dhmh.state.md, Telephone: 410-767-6499; Fax: 410-767-4183
