I am excited to get my massage and bodywork professionals community blog up and running. Keep tuned in for all of my sometimes rantish, but mostly direct and actionable thoughts on how to create a online presence that works for massage therapists.

I just returned from attending the World Massage Festival in Las Vegas, and what a blast! I’ve been attending this annual event for several years, and this was the best one yet. OK, I did a lot more this summer than this, but there is one thing I want to tell you about. Why should you care what I did? Apparently you read my blog because I have something important to say. This one is real important, at least I think so.
Many of you longtime readers know of my dissatisfaction with many existing theories of explanation for myofascial release. If it had stayed grounded in the simple model of 20-30 years ago, a model of ground substance, elastin, and collagen,…

Lately, several clients have come in with pain issues that might be avoided with a review of their environmental influences. Usually these influencers are related to the work environment but home and family also play a role in ergonomics. Here's an article I wrote several years ago to address some of these issues.
Ergonomics is the science of making improvements to your work space and daily tasks to more efficiently fit your body and routine. Its goal is to prevent pain and…

When individuals think about the treatment of their spine they think of a number of ways they can treat it. Commonly prescribe thinking under mainstream medicine is to medicate it. While medication can help reduce the pain level and help fight inflammation, it masks the pain by hiding it; thereby not resolving the underlying cause of the pain. Medications allow us to…

Ever wondered how our body kept us amazingly free from diseases despite daily throwbacks such as stress, trigger factors, and other harmful agents like bacteria, microbes, viruses, and pathogens that try to invade your body?
