Alliance for Massage Therapy Education Opens National Headquarters

The Alliance for Massage Therapy Education, a new independent organization for massage schools and educators, is pleased to announce the opening of its National Headquarters in the Washington, DC area. The Alliance has partnered with Coulter Nonprofit Management, a division of The Coulter Companies, to provide a complete package of association management services. As of December 1, the Alliance’s address is 1760 Old Meadow Road, Suite 500, McLean, Virginia 22102. The phone number is 703-506-2888, and the general office email address is admin@afmte.org.

Established in 1989, Coulter offers comprehensive headquarters, staff and infrastructure solutions for national and international nonprofits. Their clients include professional and trade associations as well as foundations in a array of sectors, including health care, business, women’s issues, education, and media. According to Coulter CEO Tom Gibson, “Coulter is focused on transforming high-potential, socially principled organizations from good to great. The Alliance for Massage Therapy Education will fill an important need in the massage field and Coulter is excited to work with the Alliance from the ground up as it becomes a deeply relevant and sustainable organization.”

As one of fewer than 2% of association management companies worldwide to earn Charter Accreditation from both the AMC Institute and the American Society of Association Executives, Coulter Nonprofit Management has perfected the operating systems and business processes that fuel nonprofit organizational growth. Coulter’s recognition by the American Business Ethics Awards as one of the top three companies in the United States of fewer than 250 employees further demonstrates its corporate commitment to ethics and integrity, and was among the reasons the Alliance’s Leadership Team chose Coulter to provide its management solution.

The Alliance’s new base of operations in suburban Washington DC will place the Alliance proximate to nearly all the independent associations of colleges/schools for other professions. Rick Rosen, Alliance Executive Director noted, “There’s much we can learn from these like-minded organizations. The combination of location and a strong management team provides the Alliance a tremendous advantage as we quickly build this dynamic and responsive organization.”
