Burn Scar Massage Therapy CEU Course a success

Handle with Care Massage Therapy just taught a class of 37 massage therapist in Studio City, CA as part of the AMTA National Massage Education Convention. We were honored to have so many California chapter presidents and vice presidents in attendance for our class.

Handle with Care are the official trainers for the 2014 World Burn Congress (WBC) in Anaheim, CA in October. This annual event brings in burn survivors, medical staff and firefighters from all over the world. Attendance can reach as high as 900 people. This event is used as a support group for pediatric/adult burn survivors and their family members. There are keynote speakers, break out sessions and support groups, social functions and of course...massage therapy. The AMTA has headed up the team for this event in Milwaukee, WI, Providence, RI and now in Anaheim, CA.

Why was Handle with Care Massage Therapy chosen as the trainers for the 2014 WBC event?? Handle with Care Therapists, Jen Hartley and Christina Hallwas are not massage therapists who studied burns....we are burn survivors who studied massage therapy. I am about to celebrate 40 years as a burn survivor and my business partner, Chris just celebrated 12 years. We took first hand knowledge of our burn injuries, acute treatment in hospital, surgical revisions, countless skin grafts, physical therapy and years of psychological and emotional healing and combined it with our massage therapy education to create our unique Burn Scar Massage Therapy Protocol. I graduated as salutatorian in 2004 from Augusta School of Massage, Inc in Augusta, GA and Chris graduated valedictorian from Georgia Academy of Massage in 2010 (highest GPA in the schools history).

We have since trained therapists across the US and burn center staff in Managua, Nicaragua and Johannesburg, South Africa. Handle with Care has comprised an impressive referral network of therapists trained in Burn Scar Massage Therapy and are contacted frequently by burn units, children's burn camps and burn survivors who are looking for trained therapists in their area.
