I just started contacting employers to see about performing chair massage on their employees. I always get the question, what is the name of your business? Do I need to actually set up a business to sound legite? I am just doing this as freelance work on the side to see if I can build it up into something.

Hi Shawn.  Chair massage at businesses is one of the things I've been thinking of also.  Regarding a business name, you can use you name as your business name.  Here in North Carolina, setting up a Sole Proprietor is a fairly simple and inexpensive endeavor.  You should consider establishing a formal business, liability, income tax, purchasing discounts.

You could set up a barter deal with a CPA to get help determining which business structure is the best for you.  You might get a  permanent customer and lead from the partnership.

Be well.
