My opinion on tipping has always been that if I am receiving good comensation for my service (ex. 50% independent contracting rate or a 100% for personal clientelle) then tip should not be expected (do we tip our chiropractors or naturopath's, etc)? Unfortunately when we have massage clinic's, spa's, massage mills then lmt's are being well under fair compensation and then yes tipping is appropriate. But at the end of the day you tip your bartender's, hair dresser's, etc. We want to be taken seriously and considered true 'therapist's' so we should not expect it if we are being paid appropriately for our services :)
