Frustration. That's what it is today. I just completed my initial training in July and began my practice. Not two weeks later I was in a cycling crash and broke a bone in my left arm. I've had sports injuries in the past, but it's always been my knees. Now that I *need* my arms, there it goes! On one level, this seemed to be the universe talking to me. In that "better sense" kind of way that no one needs once they don't have to live under the same roof with mom. The fact is I'm very close to finishing a Ph.D. in linguistics and the massage therapy training was the biggest breath of fresh air my life has ever seen. I was all ready to start rolling and ditch the dissertation. Well, now I've been called back to complete the dissertation and that's going OK. But seeing this site today got all of my massage juices flowing again. I've been fortunate that the break is healing well and I've been able to return to doing a couple of massages a week. I hope that by the beginning of 2010 I'll be fully rehabilitated with the arm and finished with the dissertation. I am grateful for seeing this invitation to participate in this online community today. I think it's just the kind of support I need. It's like a little glimpse of the light at the end of the tunnel!
