Yesterday I started a new job.

Four days ago I quit the old one.

You know that the old job, if you've read my first blog post, was turning into an unpleasant situation. It was a good thing I left given what the alternative would've been had I choked and stayed on.

The downside is that I left the location that was providing me the bulk of my income.

I'd been there three years, and things were beginning to become quite comfortable aside from the UNcomfortable middle management "deviosity".

After two days in a completely different environment, I am enjoying a more relaxed, less clinical setting. The downside is that I am dreading having to "start all over", and I'm hoping that a miracle occurs and clients somehow magically pour in, clamoring for my magic hands and superior skill.

I'm frustrated, anxious and exhausted at the prospect of it all.

If everything happens for a reason, then I hope the easily recognizable reason shows itself quickly.

Oh yeah... and I'd also like a pony, a ride in the batmobile, some decent lottery numbers and a proposal of marriage from Gerard Butler.

No... I don't want much.

Good luck with your new "beginning" ~ your story brings to mind what a resourceful friend of mine did after she left one practice and a lot of her clients. As it happened, she rented a space just across the road, then hung huge a banner outside that read: "Dr. (name deleted) IS HERE!" Pretty shameless, but it worked and those clients who were wondering what happened to her became the clientele of her beautiful new practice. As for me, I'm also pretty shameless about passing my card around ~ and yes, even to checkout people & bank tellers!

Around Christmas I was leaving my business cards in the bank teller drawers at the drive up window! I gave cards to all my daughter's classmates parents as well as teachers. Be forward! Just hand it over with a wink and a smile and tell them that everyone could benefit from a massage. Agree with the Gerard thing, but only if he's going 300 all the time! ;)

Love the bear... Things sound rough. "If it doesn't kill ya ....it will make you better!" Go out and get those customers. Get your cards in your hands and go to any store. Start a conversation and sell those magic hands and superior skills. Waiting for anyone, is just paying the bills. Go get 'um! You can do it!
