I am very disappointed in the way the massage therapy field is regulated. Fristly there is no department for complaints concerning the profession. I have been a therapist for fifteen years and slowly I have seen major changes with this profession. Why are franchises being allowed where the therapists are being totally exploited paid poorly worked long hours ect. Secondly why are there tv advertisments promoting these glamours ads of massage schools with great jobs in the field when the profession is totally saturated. Every second person I met in colorado was a therapist and some findind it very difficult to get work. For that reason why not have tv ads for doctors accupunturists dentists and lets franchise there professions! In my opinion I would like to see less schools it seems to me they are the ones making all the money and franchises closed. Also if the therapist wants to do continuing programs in the field cheaper courses available for them and it should be an option! This profession should be about healing people not about money!
