I am just learning the trade and wonder what is involved in doing the medical insurance paper work for doctor ordered message. If I open my own practice, should I just plan on hiring a temp once a week to take care of that? I am terrible at paperwork and what to be successful at this. What do the rest of the independent shops do? I have a few months to go (May) before I get my license. Thanks.

First decide if you want to take insurance or just focus on creating a cash business In most states you can only do car accidents and work injuries. There really isn't that much to do unless you are a 100% insurance office - write chart notes for every client and write reports when asked. Send bills using www.officeally.com or get some software that does it. Most usually have a mix of clients - cash or insurance. I limit my insurance cases because of the extra time involved and screen them for the likelihood of issues and only take cases that are clear cut - no delayed payments or court cases etc. You can set your own boundaries to support you.

Sure you can hire someone if you want.
