How many times a day do we stress the importance of frequent massage and bodywork? Each and every client we see that day, correct? Well, the more I've been thinking about it, the more I've been realizing that there are a lot of us out there that aren't practicing what we teach! Think hard....when was the last time you had a massage? I had one 2 days ago. It was fabulous and I've slept like a rock the past two nights. The previous massage was 3 weeks before. The one before that? 4 years. OUCH! Now, how on earth are we to be taken seriously? I know, I know, things happen. Life gets in the way. Our kids get sick, are spouses get sick, we get sick. We're too busy with football practice, volleyball practice, this track meet, that wrestling match, etc. The lists go on and on. And yet we tell our clients that all it takes to make a significant change in their health is to take one hour for themselves. Once a week, twice a month, once a month, whatever they can do is "better than nothing". I know I'm guilty! How many times do we tell ourselves that we'll look for someone next week. Or that you haven't found your right "fit", the perfect therapist for your own body needs? How many excuses can we come up with? I know I have a bag full! The key is to just do it! Make that phone call to the "other" therapist in town or the new gal/guy who just opened up down the street and ASK! That's what I did. I asked if she would be willing to try a trade for a one hour session. No pressure, no money on the table. If I didn't like her massage, she didn't like mine, there was no need to do it again. There's no point in trading if you don't like the treatment, right? In this case it worked out fine. Now we are determining how many times a month we would both like to recieve and go from there! So, I'm encouraging all out there to just take the plunge and ask! Get your massage this week! Practice what you teach and you will reap the rewards!

And don't forget the spouse! If I don't make an appointment for her in my schedule and she sees how tired I am she dose not ask. and then she is down with a fibro or psoriasis attack.
