I have been urged by a couple of lovely ladies to start a blog in hopes of entertaining as well as offering support to others in the field who are pregnant and practicing. At this time, I am 8 weeks pregnant and have a lovely 4 year old princess/monster at home. Personally, I think all children at that age are given to bipolar-like traits, no offense. I own and operate Two Rivers Bodyshop in Ottawa, IL. The client load is moderate and growing each month. Much like myself!
If you are or have ever been pregnant, you know that the first trimester is a roller coaster of revelations. And let's not forget, each pregnancy is different. What may have gone well for number one may go, not so well, for number two. For myself, this one is completely different. With my daughter, I floated around in Prego-La-La-Land wondering what all the fuss was about. I was born to birth babies. I am woman and I will conquer all in my path. Idiot. This one, I know where all bathrooms and trash cans are within a square mile of my location at all times. I suspect that my clients will soon know something is up due to the fact that I eyeball the trash can in my room a little too often. But hey, if I need to grab and bolt, I need to be aware of my surroundings.
Which leads me to another interesting factor. My spacial awareness is non-existent. The walls have secretly conspired against me. In their witty attempts of derailment I have noticed them sticking out their trim to see me careen off one wall into another. So far, there has been no attempts on my life in my massage room. However, I notice that there must never be any sudden movements. My massages are very fluid, flowing, and I tend to follow in my own movements. A little less flow is suggested. Plant those feet and nobody gets hurt.
My due date is September 25th. I imagine I will have many enlightening things to discuss as time goes on.
