If you are educated and knowledgable about the benefits of massage therapy, then this message is for you! While our nation is in the midst of reforming health care, it is time that we care about health and that health care actually cares. Massage therapy needs to be incorporated into our healthcare system and covered by insurance in all instances instead of just vehicular accidents or slip and fall. This is our nation's opportunity to educate the general public about body awareness for self and others. The United States is the nation least "touched", and we have the chance to encourage and promote appropriate, knowledgable and comfortable contact. Write to your congressmen and women, and email President Obama. Our country would be a better place if everybody could afford and get a massage. Health and well-being would improve on a national level, as well as saving money on traditional healthcare such as pharmaceuticals. In addition, thousands of jobs would be created. Our great nation must make massage therapy a part of healthcare.

Yes, change begins with us. Speak, write, network, and touch at all levels.

I agree Meghann. Everyone benefits with skilled touch and especially the elderly and those that are compromised in movement abilities. Just the benefit to circulation and well-being could so offset the need for excessive phamaceuticals, huge savings could be realized as well as quality of life for so many.
