Hi Mike ! Thanks for writing ! I love the herbs and knowing i can help in rainforest preservation. We all love the treasure tea as a base. The five tree barks are used in the amazon as their health drink. This stuff is awesome and i feel great . If you have any questions please feel free to call me. Thank you Peter 610 802 2865
Sure, I'd love to write an article for you. Give me the particulars of writer's guidelines....
A bit of background on me might be in order here:
*Retired military (8 years Navy; 12 Years Coast Guard)
*Retired tax accountant
*I've written professionally wrote for:
Capital City Weekly (newspaper in Juneau, AK)
Alaska Business Monthly Magazine
Writer's Digest Magazine
*Certified Hypnotherapist....(use relaxation techniques in massage)
*Certified Massage Therapist (at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital)
If it reads like I've been around a few days, and I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up....that's an accurate conclusion to draw....
Actually, I am interested in maybe becoming an instructor at some point for the Festival....I am fascinated with Trigger Point Therapy, and in fact, am going to give a presentation at the middle of this month at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital's Health Fair Week called Those Pesky Trigger Points. See, Those Pesky Trigger Points often disguise themselves as some other pain in some other part of the body than where they're actually hiding! Many complaints people have with such things as Carpel Tunnel Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, even symptoms of a heart attack can be traced to these pesky little critters.
Many medical-types misdiagnose this condition and often reach prematurely for the scalpel! In fact, I think many massage practitioners are under-informed of the impact they have on a client.
Oops...sorry, Mike, I got carried away there for a moment by my passion for the topic!
I watched the You Tube segment with you being interviewed by Eric Brown from Relax to the Max. At first (based on our appearances/ages) I thought I'd regrown my beard and had an alzheimers moment, then I realized that it was you under that ballcap talking with Eric and not me! Good stuff that!
I am pretty new to the LMT community! I finished school in May (09), and immediatly got a job at a spa in July! My school had closed due to our wonderful economy which pushed me to go out and get a job right away! I Love aromatherapy, which I am still learning through work and self teaching. I would love to find somewhere I can fully learn it! I also do exfoliation, hot stone, Deep tissue, sports, ect...There is so much out there I would love to learn! Cupping and Ashiatsu Bar massage are on the top of my list!
Well, when I signed up I used my Sunday-Go-To-Meeting name--"James"--but after looking around, it felt like I was wearing a Tuxedo and everyone else was relaxed, wearing jeans on the site, so I quickly edited my profile to "Jim". Now I too feel relaxed (like after a good massage!).
I'm in Fairbanks, Alaska and I think I'm one of about 2 male massage therapists here (maybe in the state!). I am glad to join this group and glad to see other males in the profession. I was going to start adding a surcharge to clients who refer to me as a "masseuse!" Was going to use the surcharge to travel to Trinidad, Colorado for a gender change operation!
Hi Mike,
Thank you for all your work with Massage Festival. I have not had the pleasure of attending, but have been following for a few years now and will hopefully make it there soon!
