There was no before. I've been doing massage on my family since I was 5, maybe earlier. Didn't know I was Cinderella until adulthood. Don't all kids cook, clean, & do massage for their parents & 11 siblings? I have only been getting paid to do massage since 1991.
I am new to all of this, so it's nice to be greeted so quickly and warmly : ) I am studying Indian Head Massage until after Easter and then I will be able to be unleashed onto the public!
I will then be studying a 1 year Complimentary Therapies Course in September 2010, which will see me doing Reflexology, Swedish Massage and Aromatherapy. I can't wait, I am very excited by it all.
This is a new beginning for me as my business closed down due to the recession in December 2008. I have decided that it is a new path for me when a friend of mine introduced me to it all. I have made, sold and taught jewellery making for the past 10 years, so it's nice to have something new to do with my life.
I was a nurse for 28 years...mainly in the field of College Health...loved it, but massage found me and I loved it more! I have been a LMT for 10 years.

Dear Mike,
What did you do before you were a massage therapist and what made you decide to become one?

Hello Mike, I'm glad to accept the friend request. Before I decided to become a massage therapist I was persuing metaphysical studies, alternative and holistic health practices and
energy work. After reflecting on these studies I realized that I was on the path of helping people. The decision to become a massage therapist amidst all of the other modalities was just a natural flow.

How did you get into massage?
Speak to you soon.

Trust all is going well for you and yours. Getting settled in here in Nepal, and focuing on the goals for this year. Exciting stuff!
Any chance you still had an interest in an article on HH? Whatever works best for you.
Have a great day,
Rob
