I worked as a pharmaceutical chemist for 15 years before being laid off back in 2008. I am also trained in mixology.
I've had lots of unnofficial training from my days attending East Carolina University in the 80s/90s due to my close association to Sports med students, OT and PT students. Some taught me basics, other simply gave me massages.
During my time as a chemist, I also attended several Massage therapy workshops.
In addition, on my own, I've studied aromatherapy, reflexology, and herbal therapies (even though I worked in pharmaceutics). I joke that i have this secret wish to become an apothecary. :) It is almost not a joke. I am into holistic healthcare, in general.
I also have more than 10 years experience in t'ai chi, so I am familiar with the concept of energy channels.
And now that I have been laid off for more than 2 years, I am considering a career change (or at least, addition). I am researching massage therapy schools at the moment.
Feel free to recommend your favorite school(s)! All input is welcome!
