What is required for Out-call based massage practice?
Would I need a locked filing cabinet when doing out-call? I will not have a home business, so clients will not be at my home. I would still have folders with soap notes and the other legal documents of course, but would just bring with me the ones I need when going to the client's house.
Since I am on the topic, should I get like a locked briefcase to bring with carrying the important documents mentioned above? And are there any other tips regarding doing out-call based massages?

The easiest way to comply with confidentiality issues while doing out-calls is to use a HIPPA compliant web APP or local software that can be easily carried in a laptop, tablet or smartphone. A few have been discussed on this forum, and a good web search should reveal a lot of options for all medical professionals, including MTs.
I don't do many massage outcalls, but move between different clinics and spas as a contractor - my best piece of advice is to travel light! Good luck with your business.

I think one member here mentioned SOAP vault which is HIPPA compliant. I'm looking into doing that myself. You can also look into using Wufoo, but I don't know if it's compliant or not. If you need specifics about security and storage go to the HIPPA website, it explains everything there.
You may want to see if you can have clients fill out their intake online on your website, so you have all that information by the time you get to the site.
For the obvious, you want to get a Square reader (or something similar) to accept credit cards. It's something I consider essential.
In a better safe than sorry, try carrying a personal body alarm on your person when going onsite. Something small ,you can clip on to your belt loop. They have them on Amazon for $15-$20. Even though you can screen out "creepers" as much as possible, you may end up with one regardless. Plus there is (as far as I know) no legal restriction, unlike mace, in some states to carry one.

Thank you, I will look up the HIPPA website. Yes, travelling light would be ideal, and since I will not be doing many outcalls a week, that should not be a problem. I would also like to get a tablet to be able to keep all the paperwork on it, as well as being able to take credit cards. The personal body alarm sounds like a pretty good idea too if I start getting clients that I do not know.

In the past Ive done lots of house visits. I would just go to their house with my table, sheets, and oil. The doctors referals that were billed to insurance companies. I simply took notes and did the paper work later, when at home. And in all those cases the medical doctors or chiropractors already screaned the clients for massage. If they were not medical referals. I just massaged them.
