Do massages help with stress? I have heard about relaxation massage therapy from a friend of mine in Toronto. Nowadays, I'm very stressed and I would like to try out this therapy. Has anyone had this massage ? I am interested in knowing more about it.

Hi Julia,
I second what Gordon says. The answer is most definitely yes. Massage is not only a great way to improve stress hormone levels in the body, but can also reduce insomnia, anxiety, depression, and pain, among other things.
If you are looking for an in-depth look at how massage can be a stress reducer, or does any of these other things, here is a round up of the recent studies on the the benefits of massage that I found to be interesting.
With that said, if you are unsure if relaxation massage therapy would work for you - try it! Sometimes experiencing things is the easiest way to know if it will work for us or not.
Hope this helps answer your question!
Yes massage therapy helps in reducing stress. Massage therapy has been shown to be a means by which stress can be reduced significantly on physical and psychological levels. While massage therapists know from experience that massage reduces stress, there is considerable research that validates our experience.
