Dress Code in Massage Schools
Hi all,
I am a program manager at a massage school, and want to take a poll on dress code in the classroom. We struggle during the warmer months with student apparel ( or lack of) and I want to implement student "uniforms" of a school T and scrub pants. Any input on this topic would be welcomed!!
Tired of the sloppy, unprofessional dress!

I think a scrub suit with your logo on it would be professional looking. Also comfortable for summer wear. Of course that's another expense for the student. Maybe the school could pay for the logo? It is advertising for you guys.

Absolutely agree. Enforce dress rules. Scrubs are professional. Above all send any student home who wants to dress sexy..revealing (females) or butt cheeks revealing low rider pants. How they dress outside the school is their business but in the school, the impression they give the client affects our entire MEDICAL FIELD.

I agree that a scrub suit may look nice and professional, but I think that the most important things in the choice of a Massage School are teachers' competences and school reliability. I recently studied at ArteCorpo Massage School in Genova, Italy. This School doesn't impose any dress rule; nevertheless teachers are so professional and serious and their courses are so interesting! If you are lucky enogh to meet good massage teachers as the ones I met their teachings remain with you forever. That's much more important than the dress rule, in my opinion! :)

I agree on the scrubs as a good choice. We all had matching scrubs with the school's logo on them. We didn't necessarily like them, but if you can find ones that are soft and comfortable, the students will be happier to wear them. We worked with the public for the last few months of school, and presented as a coordinated, professional team.

I start college in September. ( England) I have been asked to wear a black tunic or polo shirt, black trousers and flat black shoes.

Make sure the flat black shoes have good support! You will be much happier, and less fatigued.
