How long after starting Massage Therapy School did you start practicing on people outside of class?

I've been in Massage Therapy school since September 12th. We've learned some new techniques already and we are required to practice outside of class three times a week outside of class. But I haven't started practicing on people, yet I did buy my table last week. I do have all of the massage techniques on DVD from the class. So I can go back and watch what we've already learned while I'm practicing. I just wonder if I've waited too late to begin practicing.
