I am contemplating on excepting insurance. But I have been told that I should not do that; that I should write a super bill instead. They said that it would save me the time in filing insurance claims and the client would be the ones filing. The only thing I would need to do is except the prescription and keep well kept notes.

Any suggestions? Any suggestions would GREATLY be appreciated.

Im not up to date on the subject.. But Ive been doing this kind of work for thirty years. For 15 years I made money billing insurance companies(I did not get payed for all I billed).  Its cash only now.  My experience with insurance companies... And your question qualifies what Im going to say. There are rules, but the rules are constantly changing.  My suggestion..Is take cash. Avoid their b*******. There is no real answer.  Ten people on this site will give you ten different answers Take cash.. You send a bill off to an insurance company, you might not get payed.  My opinion based on my experience only.

I have no experience with insurance, and hopefully will never need to.  However, I do help my clients get reimbursed through their FlexPay accounts.  I have them get a prescription from their doctor that says "Massage therapy, evaluate and treat as needed".  Then after the session I send them a receipt with details of what we did during the session.  They submit it, along with a copy of the prescription each time, to their FlexPay provider.  It's worked beautifully!  The only issue with it is that sometimes their accounts run out of money.
