Is a CE required for certain things like Hot Stone, Energy Work, or Body Wraps?

I have been having clients ask about Body Wraps and such, and I learned how to do them in school but haven't had any continuing ed.  Would it be legal (in NC) to do wraps or Hot Stone or Energy work without a certificate of CE or would it suffice to study from dvds and videos and from my school notes?

Thanks :)

The first thing to do (if you're a licensed state) is to contact  your massage board about this question. They will be able to answer this question - depending on the state and their laws it might fall under the role of cosmetology.

If you don't practice in a licensed state, then check with your insurance if you would be covered (you should check for coverage anyway).

Good luck.

Ok thank you!

Caroline,

About a year ago I started using the wraps from It Works! Global. My clients love them and the results can last up to 6 months whereas the results with typical salon wraps are water loss and will come right back. Plus, if they love them they can order straight from you and you can make commission off their orders. Let me know if you would be interested, I would love to talk to you about them! You can check out more here, too!   It Works!
